چکیده

In this paper we present a functional representation of human expert reasoning throughout its statements when assessing the condition of a given object. The human expert statements are represented as conjunctions of elementary propositions. We demonstrate that the conjunctions of elementary propositions can be represented as qualitative additions of qualitative functions in the Q-algebra (Q, ≈, ⊕, ⊗). We validate our functional representation by formalizing a representative human expert reasoning: assessment of dough condition in function with the ingredients characteristics.

Integrating Knowledge Engineering with Knowledge Discovery in Database: TOM4D and TOM4L

A Knowledge Based System (KBS) carries out a set of knowledge intensive tasks for the purpose of putting in practice problem-solving capabilities, comparable to those of a domain expert, from an input data flow produced by a process. In particular, a knowledge intensive task requires, by construction, a Knowledge Model in order to interpret the input data flow according to the task to be achiev...

An extended hesitant group decision-making technique based on the prospect theory for emergency situations

Throughout the present manuscript, we are going to introduce a novel group emergency decision-making technique in which the application of prospect theory explains the psychological behaviour of the decision maker who is affected by the hesitancy and uncertainty of cognition in decision making problems.\Instead of usual aggregation procedure, we implement here a new fusion technique that ...

A Framework for Applying Qualitative Spatial and Temporal Reasoning

Many application domains make extensive use of spatial and temporal information. However, the numerical approaches employed by most software tools have limitations, particularly when information is vague or incomplete. To address this, alternative qualitative spatial and temporal reasoning (QSTR) methods have been developed, yet few applications have made significant use of these techniques. In...

Building Qualitative Models in Ecology

Building qualitative models is a difficult task . The construction of re-usable models, as well as the formalisation of the modelling process itself, are goals both to researchers in qualitative reasoning and ecology . This paper presents a library of model fragments for reasoning about the behaviour of ecological communities . «'e have developed a kernel of partial models that represents gener...

Qualitative, semiqualitative and interval algebras, and their application to engineering problems

This paper proposes the use of semiqualitative modelling for reasoning about the behaviour of complex physical systems. Semiqualitative modelling is a generalisation of qualitative modelling which refines the set of intervals that values may be expressed in. Semiqualitative algebras are introduced, their most important features discussed, and related to qualitative algebras. The advantages that...
